Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everybody I am done with all prerequisites and I have an Associates degree in science. I took the hesi last month and I got math 84, reading comprehension 86, grammar 74 and anatomy 88. I was devastated because i couldn't get in the spring semester by 1 point ...I plan to take vocabulary part any hints on that section? and How can I improve my grammar score? I''l be applying for the fall semester:).. I will retake hesi next month and I open this thread for us fall 2011 hopefuls.. :yeah:

good luck :D

I'm hoping to get accepted for Fall 2011 as well. Applications don't come out until February 1st. I will need to take the TEAS sometime between Feb 1st and March 1st (when the applications are due). Unfortunately my community college's nursing department said that they will not know which version of the TEAS they are going to be using for the 2011 applicants until sometime in January. I really want to start studying for it now, but I don't want to buy the wrong study guide/practice tests. I've gotten A's in all of my prereqs so far, and am pulling A's in my current 2 classes (A&P I and "Human Growth & Development"). I am taking my last 3 prereqs in the spring: A&P II, Micro, and Comp II. I hope I can keep up the A's!!

The college doesn't choose applicants until after grades are in for the spring semester, so I won't find anything out until the summer. There are two "tracks" in the nursing program - Track I (Fall, Spring, Fall, Spring) and Track II (Summer, Fall, Spring, Summer). You can say which track you would prefer on the application, but there's no guarantee you'll get that one (that is, IF you're accepted at all. I think last year there were over 300 applicants and only 70 got in - 40 in Track I and 30 in Track II). I guess I said all that just to say that if I were to get accepted for Track II, there will only be 2 weeks in between findng out I've been accepted and actually STARTING NURSING SCHOOL! ) Even though I would be totally freaking out in that instance, I would be jumping for joy that I got in!!!!!! Here's hoping!! :D

Fall 2011 Hopefull for LA Harbor - can't believe it's here - anyone else out there?

it's almost time to apply - (Jan - March 2011)

We can worry together.

I completed all of the sciences at El Camino, and am doing Lifespan at Harbor, we moved 5 min from there

last summer.

I haven't taken the TEAS yet. I know they "invite" you to take it there, if selected, or take the score

if submitted in a sealed envelope.

Even though it is a double Lottery System, because they have so many applicants, does anyone know if

there is a bias if you took Sciences somewhere else?

I plan on taking all of the "optional" pre-nursing classes while waiting - each school is pre-req specific.

ElCamino didn't require lifespan, but at Harbor, you can't apply without it.

I don't know about about anyone else, but I have a tome of questions - Is there anyone recently admitted who

is willing (has time?) to answer questions on how it went.....

I passed the HESI :D:D

God is good!! Now time for the applications process!

Congrats on passing!!!!:yeah:

What did you use to study for the A & P part....that's my only blocking point...it kept me out for the fall...done good on all other parts....if I can get over that hump I can start my application process....please help!!

I am a Fall 2011 hopefull! One more semester then I petition for clinicals in June! My college changed the entrance requirements to a point system and made it very competitive so Im kicking myself to finish up with A's under my belt. I just keep picturing myself walking the stage with my degree and passing my nclex!

I can't give any advice on the HESI because I'm not taking it until mid December. Though I am a Fall 2011 Hopeful!!! I'll graduate from Lone Star College in May 2011. I have about 4 more classes I'm registered to take (PHIL, Statistics, GOVT2, & Nutrition) in the Spring but hoping to finish with at least a 3.6% GPA. I have been submitting BSN applications over the last few weeks. So far I've applied to UT Houston, A&M, & UTMB. We have a long wait ahead of us since we probably won't hear back until March/April!!! It sounds like you are in the Houston area also! Keep me posted & good luck!!!
