U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone ;)

I didn't see a thread for those of us applying for the fall 13, so I started one. I'm retaking Algebra now & am very excited about starting this journey.

hello guys! i'm also applying for fall 2013, its my first time applying and I only have 21 points so far :(, I am taking all those extra courses in the spring so if i don't get in i will reapply for spring 2014

I'm applying for the fall as well... with 23/24 points. sooo nervous!

Hello everyone.....well here we go again. This is my second time applying and I pray that I get in this time. I will be going in with 22 points. I pray that is enough to get in. I will keep trying till I am in somewhere. GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!!!

Hello all,

First off, I would like to wish everyone the best of luck!! Second, this will be my first time applying to the El Centro ADN program. I have previously applied to the TWU BSN program, and have had no luck, with a high GPA at that. I currently have 20 points, and that is without my HESI. I have not yet taken the HESI, but am signed up to take it in March. I have taken the TEAS V for TWU before, and am not sure how the TEAS compares to the HESI. Any insight from previous applicants would be appreciated! :)

Hesi was very straight forward I bought the review book I believe it was $40 and did well. I studied the review book and went over my A&P notes.I am currently in my fourth semester at EC feel free to ask me any questions.Good luck everyone!!!

I have taken the HESI twice and it isn't so bad. I have heard that the TEAS is really hard. I really don't listen to what others say though because some people don't do well with tests. I am pretty sure you will do just fine. They have free practice tests online and I saw many test takers with books. Whatever you choose to use will be helpful. Good luck!!!

Hi everyone! I am also reapplying. There seems to be a lot of us trying again. I applied with 24 points last time and didn't get in due to my shot records. I had the td and not the tdap. They said the most common shots that people mix up is what I did with the td and the varicella. Just a heads up to everybody to tripe check your shots and make sure you have everything they ask for. Even if you have had the chicken pox you still need to get the varicella test done to prove it. I already turned in my packet this time with 27 points. I also applied to TCU, Baylor, TWU, and UTA. Good luck to everyone and I hope all goes well for us this time around!

That is awesome!! I am sure you are definitely in this time. Hopefully we all get in! I'm so excited, because I can feel it this time. It's in God's hands...that acceptance letter is mine. Good luck everyone.

I will be applying for the 2013 Fall as well. I believe I am at 23 points right now. I am starting the 5 week HPRS class next week. Not sure what to expect, it will be my first class at ECC.

Iam in my third semester right now of the THR/EL Centro program. If you work for the hospital it is alot easier to get in because there is less competition. They take about 20 students a semester and I got in with A's and B's mostly B's. For THR you have to work there for six months before applying and it does not matter if you are full/part or prn. With prn though you have to pay for the schooling and books on your own which is about 800-1000 a semester so your looking at 4000 dollars. If your full or part time then you get reimbursed. THR includes Presbyterian Dallas, plano, allen, rockwall, harris methodist fort worth, southwest, azle, burleson, cleburne and stephenville also arlington memorial hospital is a part of THR. Good luck to you all. I also only scored a 81 on the hesi a2 and that was just winging it so its really not that bad.

Respiratory817.... So, what do you think of nursing school? Can you tell me what your typical weekly schedule is? I'm hoping to get in with the Methodist partnership for Fall '13.... Thanks!!

Flower, I really have enjoyed it so far. This semester (third) is medical surgical and deals with cardiac, respiratory, immobility so Im excited about it. The first semester was a breeze because its fundamentals and if you work in the hospital alot of it you will already know. The second semester I did not enjoy its OB and PEDI but way more OB then PEDI. A typical week is 1 day of lecture (2hrs) and 1 day of clinical (10-12hrs). I cannot speak on the methodist partnership but Im pretty sure it cannot be too much different then the THR. Good luck to you I hope you get in!
