U.S.A. Connecticut

Hi there!

I am applying to Fairfield University's Second-degree BSN program. I already had my interview and am now waiting for the decision. Is anyone else applying or been accepted? I figure this can be the official thread for May 2015 start.

Hello there,

I also recently applied to the Second Degree program at Fairfield. I had an interview a couple weeks ago and I'm just waiting to find out now. Very excited and and just hoping and praying that I get into their program!

Hi! I was accepted to the Fairfield second degree program! Has anyone else heard? I live in California so moving to Connecticut would be a huge life change for me. Was wondering if anyone could tell me about the Fairfield area as I'm not very familiar with Connecticut. Anything would be very helpful! Thanks!

Congrats on the acceptance! May I ask who you find out...by email or letter in the mail? I have yet to hear but Im hoping its soon.

Fairfield is a great area. Its located in the wealthier part of CT and about 50 min to an hour train ride from NYC. The town itself is really cute & right on the shoreline so its really nice during the warmer months. As for living, I'm not too sure how much it would be but I imagine a little more expensive since its in Fairfield county. There's a lot to do there and Stamford is the next town over where a lot of young 20s-30s live so there are plenty of restaurants and more to do in that town also beside fairfield. There are also a ton of great hospitals like Yale New Haven Hospital closely located to Fairfield so the drive wouldn't be too much. i hope this helps a little!

Thank you so much for the response - very helpful! Fairfield sounds great. Is there any kind of transportation system or would it be best to bring a car - to drive to hospitals for clinicals and stuff?

I received an email and then I also received a letter in the mail. I believe they have different dates for when the applications are reviewed by the panel so maybe they haven't reviewed all of the applications yet. Good luck and hope to see you this summer!

Awesome! I hope to receive good news soon then.

There is the metro north railroad system that is very popular for transportation which runs to New Haven were YNNH is and it can get you to other areas in CT as well. I would recommend a car just to make it easier to get around but I don't believe that you really need it unless you live off campus. Remember, you can also carpool with classmates to clinical if you need to. I would talk to Fairfield University though to answer most of your questions because they probably know best!

Congrats on your acceptance SoontobenurseCA! I have not received anything from Fairfield yet but hopefully there will be some good news coming my way soo!

Thank you! I hope so too! Good luck!

I have also applied to the accelerated program & had my interview 2 weeks ago . I know they said orientation is in April so I'm hoping I get a letter by the end of Feb . & congrats on getting in !!
