I failed a pre employment screen apparently last week. I take prescription adderal for 4 years now. Not once have I filled it early or had my pcp write for anything outside of it in the 4 years. We went on a trip and my doctor prescribed me something for anxiety during travel. (Like 8) I took the as prescribed and when returning from all inclusive resort I test positive for benzos. I explained I had taken Xanax for the trip. MRO says nope! It is a metabolite of Valium or some other benzo. I am baffled. I have never had a positive screen. No judgement but I have never smoked a regular cigarette my whole life. I am devastated. I disputed it. Everyone that works with me says that my butt never hits a chair and I am always at work 30 minutes early and eat standing. I am a go go go person. So for anything to test positive for ...benzos. What should I do? At one point at the resort we chalked me passing out to sun and drinking. But hindsite it wasn’t much and my husband went to the bathroom and had to carry me to the suite with security. Any non judge mental advice is appreciated

I've read in other forum horror stories where certain medications can interact with each other and create some whack *** drug screen results. Have you contacted your PCP or given them proof of your prescriptions?

If you have a prescription for the medication than that should be good enough for any drug screen

Stop what you’re doing RIGHT NOW and seek legal advice. You’re going to get sucked up into a program you don’t deserve. They’ll find a reason to keep you in the program. Being on prescription adderall and admitting to having anxiety is all it takes. They’ll want an evaluation done by the doctor OF THEIR CHOICE, who will recommend you be in the program. Then you’ll get tied down with this mess for the next 3-5 years. You’ll be out thousands of dollars and jobless for awhile. When you do start working, the jobs you will be allowed to get will be reduced significantly. In the meantime, demand to see proper chain of custody on the drug test. Run, don’t walk, and go get a hair or nail test plus an additional urine test right now. CALL A LAWYER ASAP. Don’t, and I mean DO NOT sign ANYTHING they send you and DO NOT go see their evaluator without talking to legal counsel WHO IS FAMILIAR WITH THE BON/ STATE MONITORING PROGRAMS. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you do this. Now. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Going thru it right now. You will get sucked in and forced to go thru monitoring. As she said, I have been spending hundreds of dollars and I've never failed a drug test. Like you, I've never so much as smoked a cigarette. The system is not fair! This program is a one size fits all. You will be treated just like some one who stole meds from work and was found with the needle in the arm and mouth full of a patient's pain pills. Seriously, that's it. Get a lawyer and good luck.
