I am a nervous wreck! I took my skills test on the 13th for the first time and the results were this:
Handwashing: PASSED
Bedbath: PASSED
ROM shoulder: PASSED
Blood Pressure: PASSED
Ambulation with a gait belt and walker: FAILED
Not knowing for sure what I did wrong to fail this, but I do remember the scenerio being to leave the client in a wheelchair in her room. And I know I didnt lower the bed to the lowest level after leaving her in the wheelchair, so I think this may be what I did wrong. I was devistated!! I got a 91% on the written. I was so scared about the bloodpressure and then failed on what I thought would be one of the easiest!
Anyways, I am freaking out again because I retook the skills yesturday and am very unsure of how I did. This time I got handwashing, denture care, ambulation with walker, occupied bed, and measure and record oral fluid intake. The oral fluid intake one I am especially worried about because this is subjective. You hafve to eyeball how much the person drank out of 2 240cc glasses and 1 300cc glass. I am pretty sure I was off by about 10ccs after thinking of it. Anyways, I am sorry for rambling! I am just so worried because I need this by Oct. 1 for nursing school and I am so scared of failing again. I am in Oregon, so Headmaster grades the test.
