first of all i want to thanks god, alee70 for kaplan qt, cspink for sharing thread of spiderman mnuemonics, my very supportive husband and this site helps me a lot from all posted info..... i owe them!

i've read some contains from nsna complete review for nclex-rn, lippincott q&a almost half of the book, switch to saunders read the q&a book cover to cover, half of saunders cd, exam cram cd qs 4days b4 the test..... kaplan strategy book 2010 and cd&qt took exam until qt6 only (i even cried for my scores and pray a lot) no time to go qt7 so decided to just read directly the qs&rationale, haven't read the kaplan sata, la charity prioritization book haven't read the last chapter.

my husband waited outside the test center and pray a lot 5x lasted 5-10mins, make sure i read carefully and understand qs because i'm a foreign graduate, april 2008, even on pretty obvious qs (never changed answers) still read at least 3x, reworded, at first qs are easy until getting harder, until sata 20 more or less, drugs 20more or less (i applied prefixes and suffixes, i got 6drugs correct only upon checking on my book), prioritization, delegation, few maternal&child, no computations, teaching, care and communications, infection control. on the hardest qs i applied kaplan strategy and make sure i pray every click of the mouse that god hold my hands. took a break, deep breathing every 2-3qs, while taking a break eat, drink and pray in the bathroom..... took me less than 3hrs including breaks.... i felt 50% pass and 50%fail, but i believed strongly [color=#00b050]god's promises, after the test we went shopping my husband told me my face is glowing and i can laugh doesn't look like i'm worried unlike b4 the test i couldn't smile, palpations controlled by him! i said i just believe in god everything is possible in him, i cannot do anything without him who strengthen me. even if i cried whole day whole night, the exam is over, couldn't do anything. "to god be the glory, i give him praises and honor him" he lend me his ears on my prayer with tears.

keep reading on this site even on the last day of your test! study hard, pray hardest to your god!

Yeah! i finished the Saunders Q&A book 4th Ed and then half of cd before switching to another book/cde. Saunders is a good foundation before going to the hardest qs like Kaplan. and don't forget to read exam cram practice qs cd. Answer qs as much as u can after each nursing content review from book, I used NSNA book and if still want to verify then i open my Saunders Comprehensive Review-RN book 3rd Ed. A month before the exam all you want to do is answer Qs and if you have doubts and confuse with some particular disease then open the review book. You don't have to purchase the kaplan qs, but it depends on you. Although, it is worth also but if you read some post here it's not guarantee that you will pass, some people pass without it but some people don't pass even with the full Kaplan subscription. I will suggest be sure to read the Kaplan book 2010 with CD 1-2weeks before your NCLEX schedule.

Pls read all the books that i used in the introduction of this thread.

Good Luck!

God is good all the time!

You can make a study plan like this: 2-3 weeks you have to finish Saunders, 1 week Kaplan book, 1 week La Charity Prioritization book, 5days exam cram, etc....... it was posted on my bedroom so everytime i wake up i don't have to be sluggard in studying which is my weakness ever since i was in nursing school. I never done reading all the chapters that was our coverage like 3-5chapters, i usually read only 1-2chapters but I am very thankful. God never leave nor forsake.

thanks joycee :)

thanks joycee :)

You are always:hrns&wlcm: nina!

very encouraging....

i will keep u updated.. :) im still waiting for my att cos i re-apply :) ty

another encouraging message for all of you guys:

well, according to some books like nsna and saunders, nclex questions are based on at least two books, you just have to know or be familiar with the nursing content then practice questions and paying attention on right and wrong rationale. about me, i've read more than 8,000 but less than 10,000 qs. i followed the steps of some people advised here to start the easy qs b4 doing kaplan questions. i started with lippincott and saunders then to the harder qs, which is kaplan. i can say that the nclex questions are a way different of all the questions i've practice and strongly agree with some post here that the rationale is important.

thanks to spiderman mneumonic of infection control, it's a huge helped for me and my friend! i think most of them we had answered correctly, although it's tricky but our compilation of infection control information from this site really helped us. honestly, i really got a low score of infection control before i found the spiderman. i don't have time to read the too much information of cdc website.

you may want to review each nursing category and then try to answer few questions with same nursing content or category before moving to other category and then if you are ready to brush up your knowledge you can do 100-200 questions two weeks before the exam. evaluate you weak areas (e.g. physiological, implementation, analysis, etc....) and fix it before your nclex schedule.

about me, before i went to the testing center i opened this site http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywm6swu8f9c and sang "lead me lord" for 4mins and then pray not only for myself but also for my friends and people here in allnurses.com who really praying and studying hard just to pass. we should not be selfish for our prayers so the blessings will come smoothly.

to god be the glory! nclex-rn, i passed with 75qs on my 1st try and a week after, my friend also passed on her 2nd try with 75qs but failed on her 1st try by studying kaplan alone! we studied almost the same materials and some beneficial notes that posted here. we finished our degree outside us. i have many thread here posted the books that i used. by the way, her sister pn also passed on 1st try! isn't that amazing???

keep reading this helpful site too! study hard and pray hardest to your god!

"to god be the glory"
