Hi guys, I'm planning on applying for GCU spring nursing program. I have passed all my pre reqs with A's and B's and my GPA will be around 3.5 when applying. That is if I can pass math. I failed it last semester and I'm scared that I won't get accepted. I'm planning on retaking it over summer and won't settle for anything below a B but, do you think that failed pre req will still hold me back from being accepted?!
Okay so here is the update. GCU said they will still have the satellite campuses come spring (as long as their students demand them...) As such, the way they accept transfers will drastically change. Starting in the spring, if you have above a 3.25 GPA and an 80 average on your HESI you will be placed into a lottery for a spot. So basically if you meet all the requirements you have the same chance as anyone else who is applying. So as long as you have a 3.25 GPA and do decently well on your HESI you will have an equal chance as someone who has a 4.0 and a high HESI score. So aim for the 3.25 and take the HESI seriously :)

They had a meeting on Monday for current GCU pre-nursing students and they said it there. Also, many people's advisors and the VP of the entire school have said the same thing. But it won't be implemented until the spring hopefully.
