Failed NCLEX-RN 3 Times... Please help...

Published

I've now officially failed the NCLEX-RN three times, and I kinda of don't know what to do.

I've done Kaplan, Hurst, met with a (poor) tutor, done over 3000 questions between my 2nd and 3rd attempt from Mosby, Hurst, Kaplan, and Exam Cram.

I really thought I had it this time. I felt so confident, but I fell short again. It's terrible, but I'm getting right back on the horse and trying again. I'm looking for any kind of help, study plans, advice, anything.

My plan of action right now is to retest in 45 days, or as close to it as I can get. I'm going to attempt to test at Noon instead of earlier in the day like I have.

I plan on purchasing NCSBN's Learningext for 8 weeks, but following the 5 week plan. I've also heard great things about Saunder's questions, so I will look into that as well. If anyone has done Learningext, please offer me your advice/review of it, thanks.

I hate feeling so dumb, because I'm really not. I'm going to be an amazing nurse, I know it, I just can't get past the NCLEX monster to prove it.

I paid for NCSBN and didn't really like it, but I've talked to others who have liked it. It is a cheaper option compared to Kaplan, but the content review is really just a basic outline. The questions are great but I gave up on studying the content because I thought it was crap. That is just my opinion though. NCLEX 3500 is free online (just google it). I studied a lot with these questions too, but it tends to be pretty buggy and I constantly had to refresh because I would get an error message after I submitted my answer. Still worth it though, and there are alternative format questions there too.

Oh and I also did Saunder questions too (a classmate gave me her disc to download). The Saunders questions were harder in my opinion, but still great stuff. Both NCLEX 3500 and Saunders lets you choose if you want to do a study session (getting rationales for correct answers right away) or set up a test with however many questions you like.
