Failed Medical/Surgical Class....

Published

AGAIN! I am now so upset and not sure what to do now. I failed by a couple of points the 2nd time through the class. I am from Wisconsin, and I attend Milwaukee Area Technical College. They say after your 2nd time through a class and you fail, your done at the college. I have no clue where to go, what to do. I'm so close to finishing this out. I would only have to re-take this class and I then have only one more semester left. Of course right now I don't even wanna finish this out, but I know I should. I was even thinking of just doing it online, but I have no clue about this kind of stuff.

I'm scared, upset, and worried. No clue where to turn next, no idea what to do next.

Im sorry things didn't work out this semester. Maybe you can try another college or online school if theis school will not allow you to continue?

Annie, what about MATC in Madison? Maybe you can get in there.

I know at the school I go to in Minneapolis (MCTC), if you fail a class twice, you're out of the program, but I believe you can reapply in a year. Maybe that's an option for you there.

Good luck!

Thanks for the support. I found out yesterday that I can apply for a wavier for consideration for readmission to the program. The board will receive a letter with recommendation from me and consider letting me have another chance. I plan on writing this letter this weekend and sending it registered mail on Monday. I just hope that they allow it, otherwise I am gonna go ahead and apply to another college in my area to finish up this nursing program. I am so close and will refuse to give up now.

Hello Annie,

I read it in your words, can't hold you down. I fell a class right before graduation. This school was so strick, I fell by 1 point, 1 point. But you are not giving up and that's what matter. Whatever you decide and what ever road (online, school), assess yourself. What was it? What was going on in your life.

For me 16 teen years ago, I was a single mom, working 2 jobs, carrying 13 credits and attending my son 4 hour football game every Saturday morning.

I sat out a semester (in my sorrow) before I decided to fight the school to take that one class. It was hard fighting that school, because I was Black going to an all white private college, they did not want to let me take that one class to graduate.

Girl, I read it in you words, you will get there. Congradulation, ahead of time, even if it take you 2 years, congradulation for getting back up!

Failure is not falling, failure is not getting back up.

Quick ? Is this a big college or a small one. We have a Jr. college and the classes are alittle smaller with better teachers than the big college. Just a thought. Hang in there though. Mabe you dont want to hear this but God maybe trying to tell you something (god isnt telling you to stop trying but mabe wanting you to see something). My wife failed her first semester of nursing school by 1/3 of a point. I met her the next semester and new from the very second I saw her she was the one. By the way she was nominated for nurse of the year in the state of texas...so she isnt stupid.

Dear Annie2005,

I would like to give some encouragement words. It does matter if you have to repeat the class or go to another school. No matter what the situation may be. DO NOT GIVE UP! Nursing is probably in your heart so you continue with

it. This has happened to a good friend of mine about a three years ago. She

had tried so hard at this school. She was on her second attempt, and she did

not pass a class by .5. She was very hurt because she knew in her heart that she would be a great nurse. She applied at another school and she is currently a register nurse today. She graduated with honors at the other school. If this is something that you want to do then please do not give up.

I hope that these words have helped you. Keep your head up. One day you might be taking care of those same instrutors and faculty in your nurse role.

Take care Sweetie:kiss
