discolorations
What are the rules for discoloration at most ltc? I know most lpns have so many patients. I know of a someone that did not report it. Can she lose license for this? can the faclility report her to state board? What are the discipilary actions that most ltc facility can do to someone. Is possible for her to know how this happen with so many patients?

Failed Medical/Surgical Class....
Dear Annie2005, I would like to give some encouragement words. It does matter if you have to repeat the class or go to another school. No matter what the situation may be. DO NOT GIVE UP! Nursing is probably in your heart so you continue with it. This has happened to a good friend of mine about a three years ago. She had tried so hard at this school. She was on her second attempt, and she did not pass a class by .5. She was very hurt because she knew in her heart that she would be a great nurse. She applied at another school and she is currently a register nurse today. She graduated with honors at the other school. If this is something that you want to do then please do not give up. I hope that these words have helped you. Keep your head up. One day you might be taking care of those same instrutors and faculty in your nurse role. Take care Sweetie:kiss

information about PN
I was just wondering about PN Courses. I guess pharmacology courses are ususally the same. LPN can't transfuse blood but RN's can. It has really been so difficult at my school. It makes me feel that they think that you are already a nurse. You are there to learn how to be a super nurse to your patients. I guess that I just upset from the treatment from some of the instrutors. I feel better since I had time to vent about the issue. Thank You for responding to my thread. Good Luck in you career as a nurse.:nuke:

information about PN
I would like to know about any Pn Programs online. How many semesters are PN programs? Can you work while in school? Are you prepared before taking any board. If any one can respond then I would greatly appreciated. I have just heard that it is so hard to be a nurse.

A special thanks to all Hospice Nurses
I recently had an experience with Hospice. My grandmother passed away on March 9, 2006. SHe has terminal liver cancer. SHe had been in my life since a baby. It has been very hard, but I am coping. She was a hospice house setting. The nurses and staff was so nice and sweet to us during our stay at the facility. It was hard, but I hnow that it was time for her to go. I know that she is with God, and her pain and suffering is over. I have much respect for all hospice nurses. Keep up the good work with all terminally ill patients. I felted that I needed to post this thread. I feel that it is helping me to cope everyday. She was my second mother and I loved her so much. I love all of you :blushkiss

Assisitance with IV calcalations
I am taking part 2 of pharmacology. We just stilled flow rate, drop rate, iv bolus, iv reconstitution, and ivpb. Do any of you know of any books that would help with this calculations. It just feel so overwhelming at this point and time. Are all ADN program like this? It seem like they are trying to give you so much information in a short period of time. Any advice on learning this information in 2 weeks. I would appreciate any kind of feedback. What is the key to thinking critically? I am still trying to think critically on all of these tests.
