Failed AGACNP Board Exam-Need help

Published

Hello,

I just failed the AGACNP-boards yesterday & would appreciate any advice on how to prepare for the retake. I studied for about 5 weeks (3 to 6 hours/day), used Barkley review, Barkley practice questions, & purchased the 200 ANCC practice questions.

I am also wondering if I should apply to take the ACNP from ANCC instead of the AGACNP?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No advice for exam prep but I would say that if I were in your shoes, I would retake AGACNP and not try ACNP. The latter is about to be retired and you trained under the new AGACNP curriculum.

Hello,

I also was unsuccessful with my first attempt passing the AGACNP ANCC exam. This has been extremely frustrating. I have the Barkley cd/review book. Can you all tell me if the retest exam be the same exam as I saw the first time or will the retest be a completely different set of questions. I am trying to prepare in order to avoid the disastrous mistake on the retest.

Sorry to hear that. I am glad you are quickly picking up rather than dwelling on it. Well, since no one has replied, i figured i should say something to encourage you...I have not taken the test before neither am i in that track. I am in FNP track. But from my discussion with previous test takers and this forum, the exam is reshuffled every time you take it. So, u may get even some or similar question taken before or entirely new exam.In any case, i know you can do it! Going through the program is not an achievement that should let you know you can do it! Put yourself together and use your result to know areas of greatest weakness and start from there. Wishing you all the best!

Thanks for replying! So you have known other failed 1st time takers. Thanks for sharing the information regarding the shuffling of test. I didn't know if I would see the exact exam or completely different exam all together.

are there specific sites regarding reshuffling or retesting that would be helpful?

By the way, i meant to say in my previous post that going through the program is an achievement that should let you know you can do it...not the other way round...:) But anyway, If I understand what you are asking (specific sites about reshuffling or retesting) I don't know if reshuffling the test or learning how it works would help at this time. I would focus on studying the content (especially the weakest areas). If you search this forum, there are lots of information on previous test takers and the resources or websites they used. That might help you as well. I wish you all the best ..:)

I am about to sit for my AGACNP exam and I am wreck ! I am testing with ANCC. Studying seems overwhelming. Any suggestions that could help me ?

I know this thread is 3 years old, but may I contact you regarding boards?
