Failed the AANP and ANCC

Hello everyone

So I took the AANP in March 2011 after taking the Fitz course, and failed (personally I didn't think I was ready), but I thought I would try. Then I purchased the Barkley Assoc CD and Home Course and studied better from his work. So in Aug, 2011, I took the ANCC and it was FULL of ethical, cultural, and Standard of Nursing questions, all of which I didn't study; hence I failed again. I'm sooo sad and ready to give up. But I worked so hard. I have two small children and really need to pass. I'm losing hope...Did anyone else fail more than once? Is there hope? Any help is good help. Thank you!!!

Congratulations. I know this is old but I stumbled across this thread after taking my aanp today and not passing. I was looking to see what methods others used to study. How do like working in the correctional facility? That's my goal once getting licensed.

i took the Fitzgerald course, and went through the online portion of it very thoroughly. Also bought the Leik comprehensive review book. Read through both of those and took lots and lots of questions. I passed the ANCC on the second try. First try I had an anxiety/panic attack and blew it.

The day of the test, I sat in front of the computer, took a deep breath in held it for a few seconds then slowly let it out. Then I told myself "I got this" when you are reading the questions, look for the words that will change what you are looking for. Don't get hung up on one Dx , read the entire question and answers. Some of the answers will have one word that makes it wrong.

I failed the AANP twice and the ANCC this pass Friday. I am so frustrated. Any suggestion how I can study for the ANCC? Please help!
