Has anyone heard of the Baylor Nurses program?? I heard its something like you work 2 16-hour shifts and get paid for 40?? If anyone knows about this or similar programs, please respond. Also, does anyone know of any healthcare facilities that pay for school in Nashville? Please reply. It'll be greatly appreciated. :blushkiss

I think many hospitals offer weekend programs. Where I intern they have 24 hr positions. You work 2 weekend days or nights, total 24 hrs. You do not get paid for 40, but you do get a premium pay. You can pick up another shift during the week if you want but at a normal base pay.
I would call around to the Nashville hospitals, explain that you are a nursing student, and just ask if they offer any of these programs. Think about them LONG AND HARD. Some pay for books and stuff too..somet forgive X amt every 6 months. Some just say we pay a year, you work a year x however many years. I personally think that plan sucks if you are an ADN student..they are getting by CHEAP.
Personally I have refused to do these options at all because I want to keep my options open. I have heard stories of hospitals putting you on the hard to staff floors and stuff.
Something to consider is many hospitals DO offer loan payback..for instance they will pay like $250/month towards your student loans..so for me I'd rather have the student loan and let them pay those back for me that to owe them going in.
