F1 Visa and OPT

Hi,

I'm just wondering if there is anyone here who has worked as a nurse with the F1 visa and OPT. I will be graduating in May and would like to apply for the OPT so I can hopefully work as a nurse and get 1 year experience under my belt. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

There have been a few posting that they worked on OPT. You have already applied for it haven't you because it can take a while to come through and you need to apply for it before you graduate?

Since there aren't many new grad positions open for RNs, and if one applies for the OPT and can't find employment what happens next?

They give you 90 days to find a job after you get approved for the OPT, but you can still look for a job before that

If you can't find a job after the 90 days then what happens to your OPT? I don't think it's fair if it were invalid after 90 days when there aren't any jobs available at this time.

It is invalid after 90 days. I think they give enough time for someone to find a job and if one can't find a job, it is just a student visa so they don't want people just living here doing nothing. Where I live, people have been finding positions no problem. Most of the people that I go to school with who have applied for positions have been hired.
