Hi,
I am currently on my OPT period which expires very soon...... and that's the reason why I needed help so badly that I came to you on this forum......
I got my BSN in California, and passed my NCLEX on my first attempt.
Heard many bad news about the situations foreign RNs trying to land a job that would sponsor.
Somewhere on the internet I read a lawyer's comment on this issue. He said that if a foreign RN with a BSN degree is hired to work as a regular bedside nurse, it is most likely the petition would be denied, because the qualification to sit for the NCLEX RN is Associate degree. In order to increase the chance for the petition of a RN BSN to be approved, such RN must work at a specialized unit, or as a nurse director/Charge Nurse. In another words, the job qualification must state that the position that the RN BSN holds requires the BSN.
It'd help me a great deal if anyone knows any hospitals/clinics/facilities that are still able and willing to petition for RN h1b. Meanwhile I think I'll go ahead and obtain certifications that might better my chances in being hired. Any suggestions on which ones I should start first? Like the ASL, and etc.
Thank you for taking your time to read this post. & Thank you for your help in advance!!

I think that one of the criteria for the H1B requirements is having a few year's of a paid hospital specialization.

Unless the facility is not excluded from the cap for H1 b ie university hospital you are going to have issues as H1b is closed for this year and will not reopen until 1st April 14 with working start date of Oct 14 if approved.

Hey Mochamo. How did it turn out for you?
I just got my license after finishing my bsn. I haven't found a job yet. It's quite frustrating! I have applied to a lot of Hospitals!
