Many of my friends ask these questions but I can't answer them.
If you are a Nurse, who already passed the nclex but plan to have your boyfriend/girlfriend/fiancee to be an immigrant as well.
Is it advisable to get married before the
-visascreen process,
or
-while waiting for the greencard to be issued, or
-obtain a greencard while still being single and petition him/her when you already get to the U.S.?
thank you

if you want your partner to be included in the petition for the US much better to get married before DS230 are filed. It can take a couple of years if applied for after getting green card. This has been discussed very recently will see if I can find the thread
Here is one of the links I found https://allnurses.com/forums/f75/getting-married-interview-231831.html

The VSC has nothing to do with the immigration procedure, other than being a requirement to have it completed.
The issue is that if they are not on your DS-230 as a legal spouse, then they are not included with your petition and you will have to wait at least two years for them to join you.
If you want them included, you need to be legally married before that petition is submitted. The only ones that can be legally added are new babies.
