Question? If the cath is 16fr. 30cc bal.Does it mean you have to inflate the balloon with H20 to max 30cc?? I know it make sense to always follow manufactor's instructions, but to be honest I never read the instructions. A client of mine, I change her F/C and she previously had a 18fr. 10cc bal..... The new cath per new order is 16fr. 30cc....
You don't have to inflate it to 30ml but that is the max the balloon will hold. The large size with the larger balloon may be ordered that way if the pt is having problems with leakage or the catheter coming out.
