I am really excited. I just found out for certain that I was excepted for an externship at Thomas in the OR. Did anyone on here do an externship while in school. If so, what was your experience, and do you have any advice for me?
Thanks

Hello Yogi,
That is wonderful news for you. I know with the new marriage, school, and now this externship your life will be busy. Just remember to get some rest and protect your health whenever possible. Once again, congrats on the externship, let us know how it goes. Blessings to you.

I did one for 2-3 months at CAMC. I didn't really understand what it is, an externship, and i was a non-trad. student. Seems that they are grooming you to work there after you graduate, at least that was how it was for me. I had to disappoint them because i wouldn't work nights, the only thing they had open after i passed my boards.
But the experience was great: they were easy on me, didn't expect much, willing to teach/talk. I was getting paid to learn.
Hope this helps.

hey everyone, I'm new to the site. Im in my first year of nursing school ( associates) and until today had no idea that there were internships//externships available for nursing students. I just finished a rotation on a telemetry floor( LOVE IT!) and had my evaluation today, when my teacher told me that I would be great for a summer internship. I have been looking online and found a few, although many of the deadlines have passed. Does anyone have any ideas? experience with externships? ) And congratulations to everyone who has recently been accepted into their summer externship!!:nuke:
What town do you want to work in?
