Hi! Ok so I'm getting in the game a bit late.... I'm 39! I have a BA in an unrelated field. I'm interested in being a nurse... The community college route seems kinda cumbersome at this stage for me. I think I want to become an LVN then do the 30 unit option for RN. I'm thinking this simply for the time factor. Any ideas? What are some school/program options....
I really appreciate your time!

Wondering, who has a transition to RN for 30 credits?

I would really suggest getting an RN. An LVN has a more limited scope of practice, and you will find far more opportunities as an RN as opposed to an LVN.

Become an RN. It is worth the time investment.

Never too late. You just figured out what you didn't want to do!! I suggest going RN and not LVN. It's hard to get nursing job as a new grad and even harder for LVN. So just go for RN. Perhaps look at associates RN (ADN) instead of Bachelors (BSN). I'm not fimiliar with the schools in Los Angeles.

Look at second degree bsn programs. You'll probably have to take pre-requisites at a community college but you can most likely finish them in a year, even if you're from an unrelated field.
