Expired Children's Tylenol!

Nurses Medications

Published

Hey everyone!

I have had mixed responses on expired children's liquid tylenol (ages 2-11). Some responses state no problems, just may not be as potent. While others state medication may become toxic. I get this call from moms sometimes! What do you guys know?

Thanks!

Call the pharmacist. There were several bad lots that parents may not have discarded. I know the testing that is done for stability and microbiology (I worked for one of the companies that did the stability testing) and I believe the data is provided to pharmacists and poison control
