experiences with ebooks?

Published

Im just starting a bsn program and the school purchases our books (cost inckuded in tuition) and have now opted for ebooks. We dont get a choice. We do have a box of ati books to go with the funds and pharm etc.

So, Im not against ebooks, but I have never used thsm for any courses until now. I am just wondering if anyone has any tips for using them and being able to organize and effectively study from the ebooks. We use coursesmart for delivery and I have made usenod the boomarks, highlights and outline tools. What did you do to get the most benefit?

Personally I would acquire a cheap used copy of the main textbook and read from that since paper is much better for me. I hate ebooks, but I enjoy saving money. The coursesmart software can be downloaded for any device. I would get a cheap Android tablet to read it on or if you have lots of $$$ get an Ipad. The Ipad vs Android thing is personal preference. I have a windows 8 laptop with a touchscreen and that works pretty well too. You could get one of those hybrid laptops that has the removable screen also?

This is what I would buy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acer-Iconia-W700-11-6-Windows-8-Tablet-i3-3217U-1-8GHz-4GB-64GB-W700-6607-/271251451739?pt=US_Tablets&hash=item3f27d8af5b

If you are asking about the software, Coursemart is annoying. I just read an ebook just like any other book except it is just harder on my eyes.

I have the coursemart on my galaxy s4 and the laptop so im covered down there. Im super cheap..... extras will wait for another time :)

I had a tough time with ebooks when I first started back to school. During my bridge program, I utilized only two ebooks. The schools program was not easy to use and I frequently had trouble. I just went online, typed in the books info and ordered or rented hard copies. My MSN program is all ebook, but their system is easy to navigate and I actually like having the ability to type in a search. As with everything, it gets easier with experience :-).

Not fond of ebooks neither, just practice using it to get better and dim the lighting on the screen
