I'm a new resident in Ontario and took the RPN exam. I'm waiting for my result but I wanted to know about the job opportunuties I need and the necessary information in order to work in the Operating Room. My background before is I'm an experienced operating room nurse for 4 years in my country. I have no idea if my experience before will be qualified here in Canada. For all RPNs who have an idea or any important advice pls share and help. Thanks in advance and looking forward for replies.

Hi Jeannette

I think my post was confusing, I should have said, I don't know how long ti takes or how much it costs for Centennial and Humber to evaluate your previous OR certificate for equivalency. The process may be quick and inexpensive, or it may be time consuming and expensive, check with Centennial and Humber, they will advise you of the process.

The 6 months, I referred to in my previous post, is the time it appears to take to complete the part time OR program at Centennial.

hehehe.. thanks for the clarification dishes. I did went to their website and ask them. I got an answer from humber. I'm still waiting for Centennial's reply. :)

Do you have any idea how long to get a certificate? or it will took 6 months?

Well judging fromt he website from centennial college... about a year?? They don't seem to get into specifics. But I wonder if the length of the program might change depending on the school.
