Experienced LVN in skilled nursing trying to find a job in acute care

Published

I am currently an LVN and have over 6 years experience in skilled nursing. However, now that I am almost done with my BSN program I'm desperately looking for a job in the acute care setting. Although I've enjoyed skilled nursing, as an RN I would lose my skills working in the same environment. I've applied to over 12 positions for LVN & CNA and haven't had any luck. Does anyone have some advice?

First of all, where are you located? California or Texas? Due to your use of the 'LVN' acronym, I know you are in one of these two states.

The answer to this question will guide the suggestions I plan to give you.

I'm in Orange County California. Thank you for your response.

I think I can find you LVN work in homecare if you are interested. If not send it to me anyway who know what comes across my desk.

The OP is interested in acute care, not home care. The difference between an acute care hospital and a home setting is like night and day.

you might have to bridge for a short while in dialysis.....
