Usually Colleges for nursing studies require you to take both semesters at the same college. Faculty are able to move body systems around and in one semester at college X a student might study the A/P of the heart. Another college (Y) may leave that to the end of the second course. You could end up studying the heart within 2 semesters and missing the nervous system entirely.
Another thing to look at: does your future college even accept Straighter Line courses?
I heard the final was pretty difficult. A lot of people who passed( I’m in a wgu group) had to take to retake the course to do so. It’s just all over the place.
I took Micro through Straighterline and passed with a B (thank God) but it was also fairly difficult since I basically had to study 26 chapters on my own with no guidance. It’s funny my friend took It online at a community college and her course was only 13 chapters ???
My advice would be to study HARD. Good luck.

Yes, online is so totally self- directed with the addition of "discussion boards". As soon as I wrote this I knew I would hear from those who think online educations is "the be all and end all." I took some graduate courses and did not like the delivery format. I have been thinking of taking a "straighter" course just to see what their course activities are like. Any suggestions?
Were you and your friend using the same textbook?
I do love finding the free/no credit courses for personal enrichment. It is so different when you are learning for yourself as a lifelong learner versus taking the course because it is a prerequisite.

Actually we did use the same book LOL which is kinda odd really. And sorry I couldn’t be of more help. I honestly don’t have suggestions. Everyone else’s experiences with A&P scared me away from completing it there. It sucks because it’s self paced and I really really wanted to apply by this year so I’m bummed. I’ve taken like 6 other courses through Straighterline and they were not nearly as hard. I like CLEPS too, read a book, take a test, get credit (wish A&P had cleps).
But I figured better to take a 8 week course(since a majority of schools are online now anyway) and have a better shot at passing. I start August 17 and will be done December 4 with both A&Ps.

I just started A&P 2 from Straighterline - I took A&P 1 online through a college and did well. Can anyone tell me what to expect from this course overall, and especially from the lab component? How long did it take you, etc.? I would really appreciate some feedback and/or advice - thank you!
