so i realize this is probably going to come across as completely whiny and silly...but that's okay

i'm sitting in my office, eating my lunch, and silently praying it stays down because obviously baby doesn't like food (btw, i'm 6 1/2 weeks pregnant, if you haven't seen my other post, haha--and my morning sickness has become 24 hour sickness....it's been a nightmare this time around!!). in comes the custodian, one of our special needs kids, and her attendant. the custodian lets the girl "help" her gather trash from my office and a few other rooms in the afternoon sometimes. as i'm eating, already nauseous, the custodian starts going on and on and on with the little girl about a dirty diaper that's in the trash, and mentioning the word "poopy" (which makes my skin crawl regardless, for some odd reason) over and over. if that's not bad enough, the attendant is standing directly in front of my desk where i'm eating, loudly blowing her nose over and over....and exclaiming that the boogers and snot "won't come out! they're stuck!"...forget morning sickness...i now have afternoon sickness.....ahhhhhh! lol

One of the myriad of reasons I absolutely refuse to eat lunch in my office. The teachers' 45 minute lunch and 45 minute planning periods are SACRED...they can live without me for the 20-30 minutes it takes me to inhale my lunch. Of course, if there is an emergency I leave my lunch in the break room and tend to it. But my staff knows that unless there is copius blood, or vomit, or breathing problems, or other true emergency, the kids can come back in 30 minutes! :)

What's funny is...I usually NEVER eat in my office! LOL That's what I get for changing my routine today!

I feel for you. I was a wound care nurse when I was pregnant with my first child. NOT COOL.

Good for you! Most of the nurses in my district eat in their office regularly and never take a real lunch or any kind of break. Sorry, but I don't need some kid hacking a lung up on my turkey on wheat. I'll be in the break room, LOL!
