Has anyone taken Hum102 Art Appreciation and Intro to Literature ENG115 thru Penn Foster? Excelsior approved both courses for me to take today to satisfy my Humanities requirement. I wanted feedback from anyone who has taken the two courses with Penn Foster.

I just took the Music Appreciation course through Penn Foster. It took me 5 days to complete the entire class--probably 6 hours total. The textbook was terrible, otherwise I would have completed it sooner. I imagine Art Appreciation could be done just as quickly. It's an awesome deal to get 3 credits (from an accredited institution) in this short of a time period and for that cheap ($210 including the textbook).

Do you know if you have to pay an enrollment fee to take their course or is it like a CLEP or Dantes thing? Studying for CPNE right now and only have one humanities to complete--YAY!!
There's no enrollment fee. Call the main number to the school and tell the that you want to take an individual course(s). You pay $210 over the phone (includes course and book!) and they set you up with an online account over the phone. They say you can get started with the course before the book arrives but the questions are so random you really need the book to begin. I took Music Appreciation. The textbook was the most poorly written I've ever seen. It seemed like it was copied and pasted from other texts by a 8 year old. There are 7-8 exams to take and then a final. Open book sounded like a breeze but the text sucked and the questions were so stupid that you couldn't even use the internet to get a solid answer. I did my best though and ended up with a B. You could get it done in one day if you have no interruptions and are very patient. I was so frustrated with the book I had to do only 1-2 exams at a time. Totally worth it for the time and money though. Best of luck.
Excelsior approved Art Appreciation, Intro to sociology, Intro to literature and
English Comp thru Penn Foster for me! :-) They are really inexpensive courses
and I'm okay with that :-)

I am also doing intro to sociology I'll have to look into Penn foster!!
Oh my goodness! Just finished that Penn Foster Music Appreciation. Glad that one was an open book! I took piano for 11 years and I didn't know 1/4 of that stuff. Way more complex info than an introductory class should be. Glad it's over!!! :)
