I would like to ask, without offending anyone and starting a loooong thread about Excelsior's program.....If indeed anyone at all, has or is going thru the RN-BSN program with them??

Would appreciate some input. I've already enrolled with them, but thinking about changing my mind since their "clinical" component is so rigid.

I've been an RN over 10 years, and just completed my CCRN and not to crazy about having to "perform" for some administrator, or otherwise just to get my BSN....

Thanks all!~

I am no help. I am enrolled in the LPN to RN program. I didn't think they had a clinical component other than the CPNE for LPN to RN. I was hoping to go on for the BSN to so I am interested in any responses you get. Good luck in what ever you decide to do.

I'm sure there have been many discussions about the whole Excelsior thing so please forgive me...I'm relatively new here. I'm beginning an LPN program this coming Monday...Yayyyy me! I plan to continue and go for my RN immediately/soon after and I'm very much interested in doing it at either Excelsior or Indiana State's LPN to BSN program as I already have a Bachelor's degree. Can anyone tell me if they've gone thru Indiana State's program or a similar program or offer any info on Excelsior's program (or direct me to an old thread where I might find this info...I don't want to re-start what I know is probably an already much talked about topic. Thanks.

Nevermind...I found another thread that answered my questions about both Excelsior and Indiana State's LPN to BSN. Thanks...I absolutely love this forum...it's so informative and I've had so many of my worries/concerns alleviated just by reading other posts.

I am going through a wonderful program for my BSN. (I was a LPN, then got my RN through Regents - which is now called Excelsior.) Anyway, I am going to Indiana Wesleyan University, the class is in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. They also have an online program but I opted for the onsite program for more interaction with other people in the same boat. I love it! They deliver my books to my house prior to the next class start. The classes are one at a time, one night a week (the same night for the entire 18 month program). The classes last between 5 and 10 weeks or so depending on the class. It is a Christian school, we have prayer and devotions prior to each class. It is wonderful! Also, I think I will receive more "respect" graduating from that school instead of Excelsior for my BSN. I know I have had heard sly remarks in the past regarding graduates from Excelsior/Regents. I always let the person know that I graduated from Regents and it takes a lot of discipline and motivation! Okay, enough rambling. Good luck in what ever you decide! Leighlee
