Excelsior prerequisites/Acceptance timeframe

Does anyone know how long it typically takes to get accepted into the program? I’ve submitted my passing TEAS scores, paramedic certificate and all other forms that needed sign off. Do they wait for your previous college credits to be reviewed before they accept you?

Also, I have to finish my prerequisites (developmental psych, micro, and sociology). Does anyone have suggestions for the prerequisites i.e. taking accelerated 8 week courses through a community college or taking the uexcels/cleps? I looked into the sociology and developmental psych CLEP and they looked pretty straight forward and cheap.

I did both the developmental psych and sociology via CLEP, definitely recommend. I did the Micro exam through EC. It wasn't terrible, I got an A. This was 12 years ago, though.

I was wanting to know how much the program is. The student advisor won't tell me the amount until I give her $600. The lady is acting very shady. This makes me feel very uneasy and uncomfortable. Does anyone know how long you have to keep making payments each month for the program. Total cost of the program starting from scratch to finish? I live in Texas. Any input or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

The tuition information is available online, as are all program requirements. You should be able to estimate for yourself. The advisors won't commit to a plan unless you are actually enrolled because at that point, they will know what curriculum you are subject to. It's not shady, it's about not providing you with false information.
