Hey there! I just joined this site yesterday, and have searched threads for a similar result and haven't found anything, so Im sorry if this is a repost!
I am an army wife and I will be going to South Korea to be with my Husband in less than 2 months. I will be starting Excelsior and Through the military I can test on base, or I can go to the Pearson Vue test site in Seoul. Obviously testing on post is the better choice since it will save me money! Anyway I just want to know if anyone has experienced something similar, how it worked out for you! Thanks for the input! Oh and I do know that I will have to go state side for me CPNE!

There was someone on the distance learning forum who did her exams in Germany, then flew back for her CPNE. It was a few years ago, so I don't exactly remember the details. Good luck with your move, and welcome to allnurses!! :) What is your background - LPN? Medic?

I also read the post about the person who did her testing in Europe, then made a trip back to the states to take the CPNE. See no problem with that plan. Just factor in extra travel time, maybe come a day earlier to give yourself recovery time in the hotel before the CPNE.

I'm an army wife too! Just wanted to say hello....i think its great we can use the base testing center, the only thing i had heard about using the post education center is that the exam may be paper/pencil and you will have to wait for results...at least that is what they told me here at Ft.Knox, so i drive the hour to louisville to test at the closest pearsonvue...that would be the only thing to check in..but since you will probably be there 2yrs anyway it wouldnt matter unless you were trying to finish everything sooner than that and didnt want to wait on results!

Hello !I am a ASN student in Excelsior presently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I took my nursing concepts exams in an accredited testing center by Excelsior and had Lifespan and 1 nursing concept exam in Pearson vue center Riyadh (new),I am eligible to take my CPNE,which I will take in US.It really did not matter how far we are because Excelsior will try their way to really find a testing site for you. What I did on my part is to get my US visa in my country which was granted, thank God.Well for now I need to save for my ticket and travel time for my final exam.
Its awesome hearing that you both were able to do it from another country! Fortunately thanks to the military I wont need a visa while im over there! And I Talked to the base and they said they have computer based testing available, but as a back up plan there is also a person vue in Seoul!
I am going from LPN to RN! I only graduated a year ago, took my nclex less than a year ago, have been working about 10 months, but not anything serious. As a pediatric home health nurse, which is nice because it's so laid back but tough because I lose practice on a lot of things, but I will study a lot while im in Korea. I hope to get a job at the hospital on base.... they give hospital jobs to spouses first (thank goodness) and they keep a certain amount of LPN's positions open that they wont fill with an RN, so everyone can have a chance to work...so I hope to pick something up part time!
