Excelsior LPN to RN....need clarification!

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

I started a traditional nursing program in spring 2009. Completed my LPN in spring 2012 and I work as a LPN.

I also took anatomy and physiology back in 2006. According to. The excelsior website, I will have to retake my A&P and micro because its been 5 years. According to the website also, nursing courses cannot be older than 5 years. Would I be able to sign up for excelsior and start taking my bios and then the LPN to RN bridge classes? I'm hoping someone can answer this for me!!!! Thanks so much!

Moved to Excelsior forum. Many schools require lab sciences to be completed in the last 5 years. If you were licensed as an LPN in the past 5 years you receive credit for one exam (health differences) after the 5 year mark you would have to take the exam.

Have you contacted the school and spoken with an admissions counselor?

You can take the non-nursing coursework once admitted before enrolling. Then once done enroll and register/take the nursing exams
