Excelsior FCCA info?

Nursing Students Excelsior

I have 2 more exams to take before I get to the FCCA. I read on excelsior website that you can take the 2- 8 week courses together which is what I plan on doing. I was wondering if the FCCA can be "completed" before the 8 weeks is over. And if it can be completed before the 8 week mark, can you schedule the CPNE even though you are technically still in that 8 week course? I know this sounds confusing but the website doesn't really specify. Also if anyone can give me some insight on how difficult the courses are would be great. Thanks!

You will not be able to access the final exam until the 8th week.

Good luck.

You will not be able to access the final exam until the 8th week. You will not be able to register for CPNE until your grade is official.

Good luck.

Hmmm I see. Thanks for the info. How is the actual FCCA?

We cannot discuss the content of FCCA d/t Excelsiors TOA.

I don't want to know what's on it. I'm just curious as to how it is for instance. Are there exams you have to take or are there assignments to turn in. I just want to know what I'm getting in to.

Just passed 274C, very relieved! 274A is the last one for me although from what I have read, it is the hard one to pass! :(

I just passed LS1 last week. I'm not looking forward to LS3!

Hi, I passed LS2 with a B, via the online course! LS1 starts on January 4th. Would anyone be able to give me advice on taking LS1 and LS3 courses at the same time? Also, is FCCA able to be taken at home?

Thanks!

Congratulations!!!

I took LS 1 and LS 3 together. Tough but doable depending on your other obligations. If you did LS 2 than you know what to expect. The FCCA is taken online as two separate exams. I think it used to be an at-home exam but not anymore. Each exam has 60 questions, you need a 70% to pass, but they are your typical and hard nursing questions. I just passed one of them and will start the 2nd in January. I plan to follow the study guide carefully. I used other sources, beyond the study guide, thinking it would help but it only serves to detract. My suggestion is to follow Excelsior's study guide which becomes available to you when you enter the 8-week course.

The 8-weeks help prepare you for the FCCA with readings and practice quizzes, if that's okay to say. There is nothing you can fail, except the main exam at the end, but you need to take the quizzes until you pass to take the final exam. They supply a study guide. There are no assignments to turn in as it's not a class.
