Excelsior college

I am interested in getting my RN through Excelsior. I'm currently an LPN. Any advice?

Sorry, did not make myself clear. I am already an Excelsior grad and an RN in the state of Indiana. Wondering if I can transfer to Ill. or Cal. does anyone know?

If you enrolled in EC before December 6, 2003, then you can transfer your license to Cali but, if you enrolled in EC after that you can't. I believe Illinois requires you to practice as an RN two years elsewhere before you can transfer your license there.

I would take the advice found here in this post with a grain of salt, especially from people who have not experienced the school.

Call your state board of nursing and ask about Excelsior College. Contact nursing recruiters in various hospitals and see what they say about hiring an EC grad. Contact the college itself and get ALL of your questions answered. Talk to students actually GOING THROUGH the college or to those who have GRADUATED from the college.

Best of luck to you!
