I'm about to start the nursing program at EC, and is not approved in GA, only by endorsment from another state, so if I live in georgia I would need to apply for the RN license in another state and transfer it back to georgia?
In that process, do I need to show the state board that I live in that state, in order to be license there? or as soon as I finish my EC exams, staying in GA, I can choose which state I want to be license? and then transfer the license!
I'm foreigner that's why is difficult for me to know how this works.
Thanks for the help..

I also graduated from EC and live in GA. Some states do have residency requirements I believe, so you will want to choose a state to get your original license in that does not. When I applied for the NCLEX in 2006 I used Minnesota because at that time the State Board office at EC was recommending them due to the ease of application there. I still have my Minnesota license even though I have never been there! The advisors at Excelsior are great at helping you with this process, speak with them for more up to date info. After you take your NCLEX and get your license from another state, all you have to do is apply to the GA BON for a license by endorsement.
:up:Thanks, MandasueRN
Very good, there is someone in the same situation I have, so EC its a real alternative to become RN...
