They are the first two nursing exams for the RN program. You register for them on the EC website and study for them and take them at your closest Pearsonvue learning center. The website can be confusing to navigate but I suggest going on there and exploring. Good luck and when all else fails call the school and speak with a nursing advisor.

You definitely need to spend some time getting familiar with the EC website even though it is cumbersome and hard to navigate. You can register for the first test and prepare for it now while you are waiting for them to get your enrollment in order. Also advise you to call the school and speak to an advisor after you have explored the website.

Hi all,
I'm in the same boat. Finished my application and now waiting on enrollment. Are you able to register for these exams if you have some Gen ED courses to either CLEP out or take before the nursing ? Sorry, very new to all this and trying to learn as much as possible and feel lost lol I've never taken an online course and only watched my husband go thru a mess via U of Phoenix online. I wanted no part of it and now here I am :)

Excelsior College ASN program is not a online program. It is distant learning program. This means that you register for your test, buy you study material and once your finished studying, you take the test at your local pearsonvue center. This program is strictly self motivation. There is noone there to push you to do it. Once you register for a test, you have 6 months to take it. As far as general ed classes. I think you can take the first 2 nursing test(Health Safety and Transitions) but the you have to be within 10 hours of completing your general ed classes before they will let you take the rest of the nursing test. Good Luck and Welcome to the EC family!
