excelsior college - getting a job

Published

well, i'm happy to report the following results: 3 applications, 2 job interviews, 2 job offers. the other place i applied just called me for an interview, but i've already accepted one of the first job offers.

this job is 5 minutes from my house, i can work all the overtime i want, and because of my background they also offered me an administrative management position (which i declined, since i wanted experience with hands on nursing).

i'm deleriously happy that i discovered excelsior college!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go ec!!

was it worth it? heck yes!

the thing to do is go to your local community college and do your prereqs there (that's my advice... it's cheaper). usually they offer online courses. then all you'll need is nc1-7 with excelsior plus the cpne. i'd get with ec admissions and find out what classes you'll need to be sure. you can talk with an academic advisor.

read the threads here and you'll find a wealth of info on ec. read a few hours and you'll know most of what you need to know. i wouldn't use rue, i'd go directly through ec. it's a long path, but very doable. best wishes.

it's very nice to be making $23 an hour, with all the overtime i want, plus quite a bit of flexibility :).

Thanks for the advice! In fact, I went to tha Distance Learning forum and you're absolutely correct. Lots of information! Thanks again.
