Excelsior College FCCA, What exactly is it?

Published

Can anyone, who recently took the FCCA 2014-2016, break down what the FCCA is so I can make a decision on whether I should take 1&2 at the same time or not? Thank you in advance!

There is information here:

From my understanding, there are a number of modules within each FCCA area with quizzes that can be taken a number of times during the 8 weeks of the course. There is a graded final at the end of each that you may take only once that must be passed with a minimum of 70% (42 out of 60 or better).

Most students I know take both together, and those who have not expressed the wish that they had.

Good luck! :)

Specializes in EMT since 92, Paramedic since 97, RN and PHRN 2021.

So this is a regular 8 week course taken at home? I thought it was an exam taken a Pearson Vue.

Yep, done at home. :)

I took them both separately. That wasn't very smart of me. Take them both together.

I'm now taking both the FCCA's concurrently. If you truly studied ALL resources (books, articles) when taking your courses and/or exams, you can take both at the same time with success. Problem is, some people do not. They just try to wing the nursing part with minimal studying. If that person is you, you are the reason they are 8 wks each. You will need the time to study. While it's not the hardest thing I've ever done, it's not the easiest. A solid knowledge base and critical thinking skills are required. There are no simple questions or answers. Success is up to you!!!!
