I had almost finished my content guide last spring for Chronicity but had to take a break to take a surgical assistant exam. I am going through the content guide, again....and I am curious how long it takes most to get through the required readings. It suggests that "14" hours should be spent on a section that is 10% of the exam. It took me much longer than this to get through Health/Safety and Chronicty. I was reading the requirements for Cultural Diversity the last few nights after work, and it took me almost 5 hours to make it through one chapter about Spirituality. Do you guys read through the entire chapeters beginning to end or do you find the items specifially in the content guide ()and read those portions? I need to pick up the speed here a bit. Thanks!

Many people do not even do the required reading, they just study the study materials, like studygroup101 notes, that are out there. Usually they are successful, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have a full grasp of the content. It is up to you how detailed you want to be and how long you want to put into the project.

As calliotter said its purely individual! For Health & SAfety it took me 25 days, for A&P 12 weeks...I remembered alot of H&S stuff from LPN school so i only skimmed the chapters that i knew i understood th emost...i also only get really in depth in stuff i really honestly do not know! Transitions took me 9 days. It's very individual! Repro took me two weeks but i only skimmed most chapters as i was answering the questions at the end of the chapters and only missing one or two. I also signed up for rnbridgeprogram and it's like online lectures...now i listen to all of those then go back and re-read the stuff that i didnt understand...takes me a little under 2 wks to study for an exam not.
