Hello all,
My first post on here and I apologize if I am going over a topic that has been approached before. It is new to me however and I would really appreciate feedback.
I have been a LPN for 1 year and am strongly leaning toward Excelsior. I am finding out the wait for local colleges is as long for LPN-to-RN as it was for LPN when I went originally.
My only concern is the clinical portion as I have heard horror stories of multiple failures at $1500 a pop. I intend to actively prepare myself (I would over-prepare actually) and also attend their expensive prep seminar, etc., if I do this. I am best at independent study so the program is well suited to me.....BUT it's the fear of the clinical that has me hesitant.
I would like to hear from anyone who has actually gone thru the clinical portion of Excelsior. Any comments would be greatly appreciated and thank you.

I know of several nurses that went thru that program, and they all passed, but I only know the details on one of them. She failed the 1st clinical testing for something really simple that she slapped herself for, but passed it the next time (after paying the $$ again). She's been an RN for several years now, and says she would do it again.

I felt the same why you did until I met with someone from College Network (because only EC offers the clinical test). They showed me a handout with pics indicating exatly what the test involved .(No invasive procedures are involved in the test).Yes! Trust me if you pray and prepare, you will do just fine.
