Hi,
I am new to this board. I am thinking of going through excelsior when I get my LPN. This board has been so informative and has really taught me a lot.
I have just heard from excelsior that they are changing their curriculum. As of Oct 2007 they are going to add NC 8. Anyone heard about this? Will they be changing their pre reqs as well. I was going to take NC1 before enrolling but I guess I will have to hold off for a while. All the NC courses will now be 3 credits instead of 4. I guess the college network will have to come out with new study guides.

I am in the process of trying to get into EC. The way I understand it, as long as you are started in the program before Oct 07, you will not be affected. And think this way. If you start today, you will be finished by then! So get to it!!!!:trout:
I can't start now, I don't have my LPN yet.
But you plan on it, so that is a good start. Good luck and if I find anything worth it, I will def. pass it along!:balloons:

hi,
excelsior will be adding two test starting in oct. 2007, and lowering the credits for each current exam. ie, nc1 now is 3 credit hours, after sept. 2007, nc1 2 credit hours.
you must be enrolled prior to sept. 2007.

any idea what happens if i take nc 1 before oct 2007? i had planned to take all the pre reqs and nc1 before getting my lpn license and enrolling.

You can take your first test NC1 with out being enrolled and as it stands now you should be exempt from NC2 unless things change. However, you have to be enrolled with EC before Oct 2007 to not be affected by the changes.
