Hi all!
There is a lady at work who's daughter is going through Excelsior's BSN program. She was telling me all her classes are 'online'. Well, as most people assume with the ASN program, the classes are technically online-- but are the BSN courses the same as the ASN where you test out of each class?
Thanks all!

only 2 or 3 are test outs, the rest are online courses. I dont know much about it, I just finished the ASN with ECE, but I have read on it some...maybe someone will be able to tell you more. I do know you have to make 2 videos at least to send in, one doing a full body assessment in a clinical setting, and one teaching across cultures.
I'm just trying to decide which ASN to BSN program would work best. I figure since I'm with Excelsior now that the transition to BSN wouldn't be as difficult.
Any other schools that are Excelsior friendly? I found out Florida Hospital isn't EC friendly.

I am an Excelsior ASN graduate and in my last class for my BSN through them. So I feel qualified to answer any questions you may have!
Awesome! I was waiting to hear from a Excelsior BSN student.
How many of your classes were actually online?
How was the cost compared to the ASN program?
Thanks a million!
The cost for everything including books, tuition, yearly fees, testing fees, etc. Is gonna run me $9900.00 for the BSN. For the ASN I spent $7230.00. I have a co-worker who did Chamberlain and spent $30,000 or 40,000 I can't remember which. All I know is I spent less and I have no debt! I pay as I go! As far as the courses go I did 6 online and tested "out" on 10. Also good to know is that as an Excelsior alumni you get an extra 5 credits towards nursing....so that is two less courses to take. If you have anymore questions, let me know!

hi melodyrn, thanks for sharing info with us. i think you did the asn with ec as well, right? if so, how was the bsn classes compared to the asn exams? harder or easier? less work or more work? can it be completed in less than a year? ec bsn is on top of my list and will enroll as soon as i pass the nclex-rn. i do have a couple more rn-bsn programs in mind that i will research more as soon as i pass the nclex such as suny delhi, utica college, Slippery Rock University, american sentinel university, saint joseph's college of maine, and university of texas arlington. yeah i need to do a lot more research on those programs. well, thanks in advance for answering my questions.

Hi, I attened Excelsior for my associate RN. Now looking to go back for my BSN. Is this a difficult program? A lot of posting like other programs? How much time does it require each week? Any clinicals involved?
Thank You, add any other info you think would be helpful to me.
