A different RN-to-BSN program was a better fit for me as far as credit hours to complete my degree and the lack of enrollment or annual fees. EC jerked me around after doing an unofficial eval for the BSN, and I wasn't going to pay the enrollment fee just to find out what would really transfer and what wouldn't. I was also ready to experience a school that wasn't EC! I don't regret my choice for a minute.
i am a current bsn student at excelsior college, i also graduated 3 years ago with my asn. i have one more class to do (bsn capstone course) so i feel i am qualified to answer any questions that you may have about the program. i am not sure what is meant by "busy work" but i have several co-workers at work that use different bsn programs and they have more assignments than me. they are constantly writing papers. don't get me wrong with excelsior you have papers to write as well, but they seem to have double the amount. also i noticed that all bsn online programs have discussions weekly, so that is nothing different. there are a total of two videos to send in, one of you teaching 3-5 people on a health need (i taught 3 family members stroke awareness at my house with my son videotaping it). the other is doing a health assessment (i did it at the ymca using my husband as a patient and my son videotaped it). all and all i have been very happy with the program.
My Clin Spec is doing EC's RN-to-BSN and loving it. She started with U of Phoenix and it wasn't a good fit for her. She saw what a good experience I had with the ADN program, met with an EC representative at an ENA conference, and decided to switch from UoP to EC. That's the great thing about having so many school options these days: there's a "best fit" for everyone somewhere. :)

Why is it that most of the RN seek other schools getting their degree other than EC. I would think that most of the distance learning students that have gone through EC will remain for their BSN, but i'm not seeing a lot of students pursuing their BSN throgh excelsior. What are some reasons for this?
