Evidence Based Research Articles

Hi all! We have a research project to do for class and we need to use at least 3 online sources, as well as a few others they have assigned. I have searched up and down online for an evidenced based article on either ventilators in general, PEEP, ARDs (acute respiratory distress), or pneumothorax! I'm at my wits end trying to find one, all of them that I find only have an abstract and not the whole article! Can anyone point me in the right direction? THank you so much!

Try going through your school library and using the CINAHL research database. There's an option to search only articles with full text available in HTML or PDF format. That's the main database I used while in school. Subject headings can also help. If all else fails, I'm sure your librarian can be a great asset as well. We had a librarian dedicated to the nursing program and to helping find nursing students relevant articles for EBP papers, projects, etc.

Good luck!

THanks so much! I Forgot all about the databases through school! I will check it out tomorrow or Wednesday! Thanks again!

You're quite welcome. I'm a research nerd and love a good article; I'm going to miss it when my database access from school dries up in 6 months because I graduated last week (we get to keep our accounts for a little while). Good luck with your research!

Oh and Google scholar (scholar.google.com) can also be useful for at least finding titles of articles if you need direction for a project.
