Evergreen Valley College LVN to RN Challenge Exam

LVN to RN challenge exam

Hello,

I'm posting to see if any LVNs have or will be taking the LVN to RN challenge exam for Evergreen Valley College. 

I'm hoping if you are, you will just give any insight or ideas you may have. I am planning on taking it in the next few weeks and just freaking out about what could possibly be on that test and just what that whole process is like?

is this just like the NCLEX? easier? harder? IDK?!?!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

I've signed up to take the challenge exam as well. I plan on studying the ATI Comprehensive NCLEX PN Review book. I am also focusing on the topics in the Nursing 10 course Syllabus. What's your plan? Any tips or suggestions?

That’s what I was planning on doing too! I pulled out my ATI books and just have been reviewing those! I’m glad to hear you are too! I’ll also look over the syllabus too!

Yes, good luck to you! Do you have any idea how many LVNs get seats per semester? Or how long do the LVNs have to wait for a seat to become available? I'm so anxious! And I hate not having all the information!

No I don’t, but I feel the same way not knowing all of this !!! Good luck to you too!!!

Hi! I applied also in October for the LVN-RN but have not heard anything about scheduling the challenge exam yet. When did you receive the email about scheduling the exam? Hoping I didn't miss it in my emails

@Nursemama10 Maybe check your spam folder? An email was sent last week to those who met the requirements and are eligible for the program

Hi everyone!!

I just got an email this morning inviting me to take the challenge exam as well! I’m kinda freaking out bc I don’t even know where to begin with studying! Or what book to get. I graduated from LVN school back in 2015, so it’s been quite a while since I have studied nursing fundamentals! What happens if you don’t pass the challenge exam? Do you know longer qualify? The unknown is making me stressed LOL.

Hi @Susanbarajas Yea, it is a little nerve-racking! I graduated LVN school in 2010, so I know how you feel! I gave most of my nursing books away a few years ago. But I was able to find some Nursing Fundamentals Review books online. That's what I'll be using to study. And yes If you don't pass the challenge exam, you are disqualified.
