Everest College Ontario RN program

U.S.A. California

Hello all,

I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.

Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?

I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.

And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??

Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Exactly! Pats on the back all around... ;) But then it's also the thought of we are all soooo close now, we want to get that spot.
I completely agree I don't think I have ever wanted anything so bad lol it's killing me!!!
Hey guys,I'm currently in my 4th quarter at Everest, getting ready to start my second year (if finals go well). I remember how rough it was waiting for "the phone call", but it'll come. I know they also select some students to be alternates, which isn't that bad of a deal. I know plenty of my fellow students were alternates and got in on the second round. I scored in the high 90's on my Hesi in Math and English, and work in the medical field, but didn't get my final call until days before the orientation. Hold out hope! I read a few of you saying that you needed to know asap if you got in because of job issues... When they say you have to be avail 5 days a week, they really mean it. Once you start your core nursing classes in the 3rd quarter your schedule is crazy, especially if you have prerequisite classes that you are also to be taking. I know for the last two quarters we didn't get our schedules for clinicals and lab until two or three days before. They are supposed to be working on fixing that, but who knows. Just be ready and willing to be changing your schedule on a moments notice. It is a tough program, some days we have an overwhelming amount of homework, two tests in one day, and papers due left and right, but it is possible. I hope you all get in (whether it be now or later).I wouldn't change my experience at the school for anything. After all, in a year (if everything goes as planned) I will be graduating and able to take my boards. And thats what really matters!
Thank you so much for your input Good luck on ur finals I hope you so great!!! I am so ready for the program I wouldn't care if it was 7 days I week I want to be a nurse soooo badly!! Congrats on being half way through!!! 1 more year until you can put RN after your name :)

finally figured out the stupid pic thing, im slow, there goes my chances..hah anyways spoke with schanelle, she said as long as we have all of our paperwork in order, we should be good. Like srneverest said, some people dont pass background checks or drug tests and what not so, hopefully thats not the case with any of us. I like the synergistic support!

Nice to finally put a face with the name. :) thanks for the info. I think they give themselves a buffer of people because some wont be able to finance fully, some wont pass backgrounds, etc. can't wait to finally meet you all

Awesome! I felt like I was the only one who didn't know, lol I can't respond to messages, just found out when I tried to send one, but it was incredibly funny, witty and informative which i could never replicate, hah.. but to sum it up, it kinda went like this: GO CONCORDE!! >:o ..I'm worried that I might be in over my head because it has been a long time since I've been in school, but I'm looking forward to the challenge like you are. And yeah the faster we're done with this tedious enrollment process, the faster we can start rearranging our lives like we had to for concorde :/

Yessss...thanks to all of you for posting some news about the program!!! I'm so proud to have made this far. English is not my first language. I'm from Brazil and have to be honest here...I"M REALLYY SCARED!!! I know it's a hard course but I waited so much for that and hope to be ready for it!!! Can't wait to start....I'll keep checking here to see if there is any other news from you guys...and if I hear anything new I'll post as well!!! Take care you all!!!

Lol...thats the understatement of the year. I lived and breathed school while attending there. if you can finish that program, you'll be fine. I've heard nothing but positive feedback about the instructors at everest. Plus, if I can do it, anyone can. I went back to school at 38! I'm started this school at Ro...talk about being out of school for a while.

I'm sure your message was witty and funny and all that jazz. ;) How bout I just pretend I got it and it made me lol... :)
