Hi all! I am wondering if any of the recently accepted have any tips or pointers for the entrance essay. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am not recently accepted, but I wanted to bump your post back up to the top. I wish you the best of luck with writing your essay! I wish I were at that stage. I still have four biology classes to complete after this quarter.

i havent heard anything yet, my essay was entertaining. I wanted to leave some sort of memorable impression

Above all else, if they ask you to include specific information or address questions, follow the directions! You'd be surprised just how many candidates write personal statements with the primary goal of being flashy, and exclude the substantive information the program administrators are seeking!

you must to follow your instructions, and write it acordenly, do not try to impress by using dificult terms and vocabulary, but i will assure that coherence, ponctuation, and a natural flow of the words, will attract the eyes of the reader, follow by creating a smooth transiction between your sentences, avoiding sudden subject breaks.
use the plain essay style if it applies to your essay (main idea, something about it and conclusion)
if it asks for your point of view it will work (your thesis, reinforcing facts, and conclusion)
and just be your self, dont get lost on your toughts...
and you will do fine
