ERI testing

Hello Everyone! Im new here and in my last semester of ADN. Our school just started the ERI total testing program this semester and apparently we cant graduate until we pass this test at the % score of 65 although we do have 3 chances to make that score. I unfortunatly failed the first test (and Im just sick over it) with a 64!! So my question is has anyone ever had to take the second eri test and is it the same as the first? And do u have any suggestions on what I can do to bring up my score. I have viewed the remediation cds through the program and dont feel as if it helped that much.

Thanks for any responses

Hi bamagrl,

My school is making us take the ERI tests and I hate them. Not only do you take tests that have nothing to do with the material you studies, especially pathophys, you can't see the questions that you got wrong.

Sorry, for the rant.

No, i'd never taken the remediation test so I can't help you. I just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one who feels this pain.

We've had to do ERI for each course throughout our entire program. The reviews are unorganized & confusing. Most of the time they only tell you bits & pieces of info. This semester (our last) we have to do a 40 hr PreRN Review with pre & post-tests. We also have to pass with a certian % to be able to graduate. Honestly, I've found my good ole text books & Saunder's to be much more helpful in prep for any & all tests we've had. I do the review because they (instructors) can go into the program & check it & with us it is required, but I don't rely on them for my studies. Sorry, I can't answer your question about taking the test a second time...so far I haven't had to do that. Just look back over your books & notes, also check out the Saunder's review book...hope this helps you some, all my best to you! :)

Hi, we too have eri testing at our school, and I feel the same as most. The tests are not providing me with any knowledge that is in conjunction with our course content. At best, I have learned how to memorize answers. To some-what answer your question, eri has many many types of exams (RN CAPs, Form A, Form B etc) so there is no way of knowing what to be prepaired for unless your school provides you with that info. As for bringing up your grade on your eri tests....here is my input. ERI is a business, and like all businesses their main goal is to make money....sure helping students is a goal too, but they can't do that with out capital. With that being said, eri sells software, and I believe books to help with their exams...Buy them! They will help, sad to say you have to flash the cash to pass nursing school, but in many cases it's true. Good Luck!
