ER RN to Dialysis

Published

Specializes in ED.

so im an ED RN for about 6 months now and previous med surg experience as a CNA. I applied to Davita since its closer to my home and its located in a major hospital here in Miami. Best of all, its closer to my house. I'm getting overwhelmed by the ED but it definitely taught me some excellent clinical skills. My 6 months is up and i want to try something else. I heard Dialysis units are also ED's being fast paced and having some critical patients. I applied to DaVita and my 2 friends work for them and have said nothing but positive comments about them. Is it a big transition from the ED? im just curious. I do hope i get the job :D

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

My nursing background is 10 years in level one trauma center. I'm an APN so my role is different but we have codes in chronic dialysis units - had one last week in fact. Assessment skills can't be overemphasized.
