Hey everyone... Just looking for some advice ? I have been in the ER for 1.5 yrs. I am much happier there than when I was son med surg floor. Love being able to have a pt for a short time... Fix 'em and move on. I find myself being more and more stressed and frustrated with pts. I really like being in this setting. Just hate feeling so irritated. Sorry if this is more of a vent, but I'm just looking some encouraging thoughts ??
Thanks
Frequent fliers are the bread and butter to the ed.. Patients address me by my first name and I cannot walk down the hall without knowing at least one of them. It's too hard to care for five unit patients at a time. I'll take a " home run" all day long..
it took me a long time to get over the not sick people, they complain the most and require the most attention. I am thankful that they can talk!
It it will get better!
Thank you! Just coming to see that I have 2 hands 2 kegs. I do the best I can and hope not to screw up and to try and remember to chart chart chart..
.. Gets a bit irritating to always fear you will screw up but I try & remember I am only human I will make mistakes and keep pushing on. Thanks to all of your stories and suggestions.. They are greatly appreciated.

I have just learned to take nothing personally, from insults to silly visits. I just smile and treat all patients as professionally as I can. Now that doesn't mean I allow abuse, but I just let it roll off and keep on going. After all, I get to go home to my good life at the end of the day, while hateful or petty people have to continue to be with their miserable selves. :)
