I personally have purchased Skyscpae PDA software (not ePocrates) and I find it to be very convenient for me as a student nurse. My PDA holds my drug guide, medical dictionary, disease guide, signs and symptoms guide......I think it might be a pain in my (you know what!) to carry all those hard copies around. Just my 2 cents!!
I use mine on a daily basis and it is worth it. Initially I started with the free soft ware. I used it all the time and found that I wanted the rest and bought the Essentials package. I like the way the meds are tied to the diagnosis. The med tables are great. I used to use the creatinine clearance frequently. I would plug in the patients particulars and viola the results were right there. There are many different tables and it saved time. I liked that I could put notes into the meds - like our methergine protocol. I like the lab section that gives you the test normals and abnormals and what diseases to look at that could cause those results. Definately worth it. During my brief tenure in a physicains' office I got them the desk top version. That was great too.
