Epic Charting with Two Middle Names

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting on here. I was hoping that I could get some help and insight from those of you who have two middle names. I recently got married and decided to keep my maiden name as a secondary middle name. My driver's license, social security card, and nursing license all have the same names on them. However, with the electronic charting system EPIC that we use at work, only my full first name, one of my middle initials, and my full last name is displayed. I have contacted EPIC IT regarding this, as I thought it may have been an error on their part. However, they are telling me there is no way to change it.

For those of you with two middle names, do you think it legally matters that my second middle inital is ommited in how my name is displayed on the electronic health record, as it does not exactly match my liscense? Have you had experiences using EPIC software and having two middle names? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

There may be a limitation on how many characters and spaces may be used. It will vary by what your employer has it set to. But, in saying that, the electronic signature that it's putting on your notes, etc, links back to a record with your full name/licensure details, etc. It's how databases work, in a short, succinct explanation

I don't think it would be an issue for a couple of reasons, first the name Epic displays is linked to much more specific data to identify you.  But also, regardless of multiple or hyphenated middle names you still only have one middle initial.  If your middle name(s) is Catherine-Smith, or Catherine Smith, etc, the middle initial is still just the first letter of those names, in this case it would be just "C".
